Socially anxious youth in treatment can enhance recovery through simple service tasks

Often alcoholics and addicts mention a fear of not fitting in, and using alcohol/drugs to alleviate anxiety. A new study looks at youth in treatment who have social anxiety disorder. Almost half of the youth in treatment were found to have a persistent fear of social humiliation, but were greatly aided in recovery though simple service activities for others.
