Overcoming egocentricity increases self-control

Neurobiological models of self-control usually focus on brain mechanisms involved in impulse control and emotion regulation. Recent research shows that the mechanism for overcoming egocentricity also facilitates self-control. This may open up new possibilities for therapeutic interventions.
